  Article Summary
Many Los Angeles and Southern California executives view outsourcing along the lines of Wikipedia’s narrow definition: "the contracting out of an internal business process to a third-party organization."

But outsourcing is a viable alternative that delivers many benefits to business leaders who may think that outsourcing is too expensive or that their businesses are too small to outsource.

This article looks at outsourcing in a different light - both by examining outsourcing from efficiency and cost-effectiveness perspectives, and by posing four critical questions to ask.

Business leaders should look anew at a broader definition of outsourcing and rephrase their questions based on company size and affordability to questions based on efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
